President & Founder
Michael Quinlivan is the President and Founder of Elmwood Advisors.
He is an experienced executive with over 20 years of financial services and markets experience
with a proven track record of launching new businesses and managing teams. His career has spanned
across management, business development, compliance and trading roles at leading firms. Before Elmwood
Advisors, Michael most recently served as the Chief Operating Officer and founding partner of Birchlane Capital,
a London-based credit fund that he helped launch in 2020. Prior to that, Michael served from 2013 to 2019 as
the Chief Operating Officer and founding partner of Argentière Capital, a Swiss-based investment adviser
started by the former members of JPMorgan’s Equities Proprietary Trading Group. Michael originally began
his career at JPMorgan as an equity derivatives trader but later moved to the Equity Proprietary Trading
Group in 2010 to function as its Business Manager and Head of Business Development. Michael
graduated from the McIntire School of Commerce at the University of Virginia
with a B.S. in both Finance and Accountancy.
