President & Founder
Michael Quinlivan is the President and Founder of Elmwood Advisors.
A seasoned executive with over two decades of experience in global financial markets, he has a
distinguished track record of launching and scaling investment businesses and leading high-performing teams.
His career spans senior roles across management, business development, compliance,
and trading at prominent institutions.
Prior to founding Elmwood Advisors, Michael served as Chief Operating Officer and founding partner
of Birchlane Capital, a London-based credit fund launched in 2020. Earlier, from 2013 to 2019, he was Chief Operating
Officer and founding partner of Argentière Capital, a Swiss-based investment adviser established by former
members of JPMorgan’s Equities Proprietary Trading Group. Michael began his career at JPMorgan
as an equity derivatives trader, later advancing to the firm’s Equity Proprietary Trading Group
where he held the role of Business Manager and Head of Business Development.
He holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Finance and Accountancy from
the McIntire School of Commerce at the University of Virginia.
